WICCBD Executive Board
Meeting Minutes for Friday, November 12th
7:30 am

  • Reminder that all WICCBD Executive Board Members must be a part of the Council of Exceptional Children and the CCBD Division. A $15 subscription fee should be paid to Debbie Brent.
  • The President welcomed those members who attended and briefly acknowledged Michelle and Annette for attending leadership in Milwaukee. Together they created an action plan that will be shared with the board at an upcoming meeting.
  • Barb made a motion to make travel costs $.37 for the upcoming year; seconded by Michelle. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
  • Rhoda made a motion to proceed with the "Lucky 13" website design, seconded by Michelle. The motion was then amended to also allow the President to sign the website contract. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
  • Discussion occurred about how to best survey out constituents on the future conference dates. Numerous voting strategies were discussed, including but not limited to: email, mailing, web site, and combinations of each of these. Poor voting returns of the past were discussed. The group preferred to send out a mailing, which will be included within the next newsletter. The current emailing list (about 700 according to Deb) will be combined (removing most duplicates) with the EBD list from DPI. No motions and votes were made, due to determining costs and the size of the lists. The President will work with the Program Chair to get out the postcard with a reasonable amount of expenditure.
  • Rhoda made a motion for a gesture of kindness to Deb in the amount of $50, seconded by Diane. Motion passed by a unanimous vote.
  • Discussion occurred on how to assist the Program Chair with the monumental task of organizing the conference and may be a future discussion topic.
  • A reminder was given by Barb that the Vice-President position (Annette) serves as the State CEC Representative and should attend meetings with the CEC when they get underway again.
  • The newsletter was discussed and all members were reminded to submit articles, etc. to Michelle and continue to support the newsletter. Multiple voices are critical in meeting the needs of our subscribers. Michelle will inquire to see if Andy has the ability to change the newsletter to a pdf file. If he does he will return it to Michelle who will forward it on to the President. The President will have it added to the website after the next newsletter is sent out.
